The Tourism Authority is the Licensing Body responsible for issuing licences in respect of EcoTourism (Adventure-Related Eco-Tourism) Activities. Ropes courses activities is an AdventureRelated Eco-Tourism Activity, which may include activities such as ziplines, suspended bridges,parallel ropes, cable swings, amongst others.

The Tourism Authority is currently elaborating Standards in view of regulating ropes course activities in Mauritius and is inviting Expression of Interest (EOI) from qualified Engineers to provide technical guidance to the Authority, in the elaboration of the Standards and assist in the evaluation of ropes course installations of the applicants/licensees, on a contractual basis, to be determined upon agreement by both parties.
