New set of guidelines have been approved by the Government within which the night clubs and private clubs should operate.  These include, among others:-

      i.        Delimitations of locations in designated tourist areas, shopping malls, commercial complexes or business areas and outside an appropriate radius from residential areas and place of worship (400 mts for night clubs and 200 mts for private clubs);

     ii.        Occupancy level requirements for dancing floor area or activity area; refreshment area, sanitary and parking facilities

    iii.        CCTV Control room, security measures and services of licenced Security Officers

   iv.        Conformity to specified health and environmental requirements, ventilation and lighting and noise tolerance level;

    v.        Hours of business

   vi.        Nuisance preventive measures; and

  vii.        Occupational Safety and Health

These guidelines will be imposed to conditions to the Tourist Enterprise Licence in respect of new applications for night clubs and private clubs. 

Existing operators will be given a moratorium period of one year to comply with the new conditions except for the one relating to the physical location
